CHARLES C CRABBE

Charles is currently the Assurance Partner and COO of GCB Bank. He is a Chartered Accountants , member of Institute of Chartered Bankers, Ghana and UK and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, UK. Charles has over 25 years’ post qualification experience and trained with KPMG, an international audit firm where be became a Deputy Manager before he joined GCB. He has championed the bank digitization agenda in his capacity as Head of Operations at GCB Ltd. He
successfully engineered and automated the strategic back office and front office processes and procedures, while managing all bottom-line factors. He has working knowledge in SUN accounting system, Opics Treasury system, Kastle Loan system,
Galvanize system (Audit Command Language), Easy Pay system and Huawei Mobile Money system.

Experience

He is the COO at Ghana Commercial Bank with expertise in all aspects of banking operations, general
management, risk management and internal controls, portfolio, program and project management,
management information systems, credit risk evaluation and IT audit skills.
Some of his key achievements at GCB include:
❖ Set up and migration of the bank’s Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Switch in-house from ICPS hosted
in Mauritius. The benefits to the bank include reduction in operational cost, enhanced security,
improved connectivity and product innovation.
❖ Restructuring of E-Banking to become a Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
❖ Introduction of Flagshipn Ghipps product; QR Code and ProxyPay Services.
❖ Central Processing Centre- Bank/Branch Back Office Automation
• Cheque Truncation System
• Automated Clearing House
• Mandate Management System
❖ Integration of the Erstwhile UT and Capital Bank.
❖ Development of blueprint for GCB transformation
